Bruce Jacobson Jr. Launches 2018 Campaign For United States Senate

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas, Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bruce Jacobson Jr. of North Richland Hills, Vice President of Media for LIFE Outreach International and the Executive Producer of the award-winning Life Today syndicated international television broadcast, today launched his campaign for United States Senator for Texas.

Jacobson's family has been active in conservative Republican efforts for decades, and helped usher Ronald Reagan into the Oval Office. In 1964, Jacobson's mother heard Reagan give the now-famous "A Time for Choosing" campaign speech for Sen. Barry Goldwater during his presidential campaign, and four years later, she began the "draft Reagan" effort in Texas.

"Ronald Reagan was my hero," Jacobson said in an announcement video on his website, BruceForTexas.com. "He brought honor back to our country, and in my mind, he brought honor to the term 'politician.' Reagan went to Washington to serve, not be served, and he had the ability to draw coalitions together to move forward a conservative agenda."

Born, raised and educated in Texas, Jacobson's first involvement with politics began at the age of eight, when his mother enlisted him to hand out bumper stickers for the Reagan campaign. Years later, he worked in the U.S. Department of Transportation as a staff assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Congressional Affairs during the Reagan administration and as a regional appointee under President George H.W. Bush. Over the past 22 years, Jacobson has worked with LIFE Outreach as an advocate for those looking for help and crying out for hope, inspiring people to meet both.

"Most politicians today are far more interested in serving themselves and their own agendas than the people who elected them. Blinded by their own political ambition, nothing ever gets done and we have political gridlock," Jacobson said. "With a Republican in the White House and a Republican majority in Congress, it makes no sense that we can't move forward with a conservative agenda. Most of this gridlock comes from obstructionists in the Senate. We should expect more, and we should demand better. As an advocate for citizens of the great State of Texas, I will do just that, representing and working for 'The Heart of Texas.'"

As a senatorial candidate, Jacobson will advocate for strong national defense; ending Obamacare; reducing federal spending and tax reform; enforcing immigration laws; veteran care and protecting the Second Amendment. Full details of his platform issues are available at BruceForTexas.com.

"I'm ready to serve my state with humility. My heart is to serve you, the people of the Lone Star State," Jacobson said. "I'm interested in you and hearing your story. I want to hear from you about the fact that your taxes are devouring your income ? a salary or wage that probably hasn't seen a raise in years; or the fact that your kids are strangling in student loan debt. I want to hear your stories about your sons and daughters who volunteered to serve in our nation's military, returning home only to face unemployment, opioid addiction or worse. Also, I want to hear your dreams. Your dreams for a better future."
