Storied Retreat Manoir Hovey Adds New Winter Adventure

NORTH HATLEY, Quebec, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- A four-season playground as well as a refined Relais & Chateaux retreat, Manoir Hovey is adding to its winter adventure offerings this season with a new adrenaline-pumping activity. The hotel has partnered with well-regarded outfitter Mohigan Adventures to offer guests an hour-long dog sledding experience this winter.

Guests will ride with a professional musher behind a team of ten huskies. The once-in-a-lifetime adventure is both romantic and exhilarating, with the dogs pulling the sled along rustic and sinuous paths into the heart of the snowy forest. Traversing six kilometers of remote Quebec countryside, the ride creates an unforgettable memory.

The new Dog Sledding Adventure is part of Manoir Hovey's "Winter Your Way" program for 2018, which lets guests tailor-make their northern holidays. It's offered as a three-night package for two that also includes accommodations in one of the hotel's 37 individually appointed, cozy classical-meets-contemporary bedrooms (an upgrade to a suite or cottage is possible for an additional fee), two gourmet dinners at the terroir-driven Le Hatley Restaurant, one bistro-style dinner in the homey and chic Tap Room Pub, a tasting flight of four types of hot chocolate, a daily full breakfast and all gratuities on meals.

The cost of the package starts at $1,430 (CAD) based on double occupancy. It will be available from December 25 through the end of March.

Guests can add a variety of other adventures to their stay. Ice fishing is one of Manoir Hovey's signature winter activities, with a charismatic local guide who creates an unforgettable experience with a warming stove, hot-beverage station, and portable pizza oven on the frozen lake. In addition to complimentary introductions to the sport on Saturdays, private lessons are offered. Other options include sleigh riding in the countryside, alpine skiing, snowshoeing, ice-skating and indulging in the services of one of the nearby Nordic spas.
