New Transition Home for Women and Children in Northern New Brunswick


CAMPBELLTON, NB, Nov. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Women and children fleeing domestic violence in Campbellton will soon have access to a new transition house, a place of safety and refuge in times of distress. The governments of Canada and New Brunswick have provided $600,000 in funding to Maison Notre-Dame Inc. to replace an existing facility for women and children who have experienced family violence.

René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska?Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), along with the Honourable Stephen Horsman, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fredericton North and provincial Minister of Families and Children, made the announcement today.
