SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Docker today announced that Jeff Clarke, CEO of Kodak, has been appointed to Docker's Board of Directors. Docker is the world's leading software company for building, securing and managing applications on a global container platform. Customers using its flagship container management platform, Docker Enterprise Edition (EE), realize more than a 50 percent reduction in IT spend, while also leveraging the Docker platform to build and manage a new generation of applications and services.

Commenting on the appointment, Docker Chairman & CEO, Steve Singh, said, "The opportunity to help businesses modernize their traditional applications is both immediate and in very high demand. In welcoming Jeff to the board, we gain a tremendous business leader that has experience helping high growth companies scale all facets of their business. Jeff has led and built highly profitable, scale businesses on a global basis. I am looking forward to working with him to help Docker achieve its potential."

Docker is helping hundreds of Global 10K companies, including ADP, Visa, and MetLife to modernize their legacy applications, optimize infrastructure and embark on a path for creating next-generation microservices. These organizations all take advantage of Docker's Modernize Traditional Applications (MTA) program, an initiative designed to meet the strong demand from enterprise customers that want to seamlessly containerize legacy applications; making them more secure, more efficient and portable across all infrastructure - all without touching the source code.

"Docker is in a unique position to anchor every enterprise's push toward greater agility and innovation," said Jeff Clarke, CEO of Kodak. "A common misconception is that these efforts require major investments of both time and money, but Docker eliminates these deterrents to modernization by seamlessly integrating with existing IT environments and reducing the costs of keeping the lights on. I look forward to working alongside Steve and his team to build the next generation platform to build, run and manage applications for enterprises around the world."

Prior to joining Kodak as CEO, Clarke was the CEO of Travelport, Inc., a leading travel commerce platform. Earlier in his career, Clarke held the role of chief operating officer at CA, Inc., where he was responsible for sales, information technology, corporate strategy and more. Clarke also served as the executive vice president of global operations at HP and recently served on the board of directors at both Autodesk and Red Hat.
