Public Service Announcement - Public invited to Remembrance Day Open House at Veterans Affairs Canada (Daniel J. MacDonald Building)
CHARLOTTETOWN, Nov. 10, 2017 /CNW/ - Bernard Butler, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy and Commemoration at Veterans Affairs Canada, invites you to an Open House in the atrium of the Daniel J. MacDonald Building after the Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Charlottetown Cenotaph.
Along with displays of uniforms worn by those who served Canadians over the years, oil paintings, replicas of monuments and historical flags, visitors will see how Veterans Affairs Canada serves and commemorates Canada's Veterans and fallen heroes. The Canada Remembers Chorus will sing songs of remembrance while visitors browse the hands-on displays and learning materials.
This Veterans' Week (November 5 ? 11), the Government of Canada invites Canadians to join in honouring all those who have served and continue to serve in the cause of peace and freedom. 2017 is a special year of commemoration for Canada, including Canada 150, the 100th anniversaries of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the Battle of Passchendaele, and the 75th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid.
