PA Gaming Control Board Levies Fines Totaling $79,500

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved fines totaling $79,500 for various violations.

The fines were the result of Board approvals at its public meeting of consent agreements between the PGCB's Office of Enforcement Counsel and:

DETAILS

The fine against Mr. Soper stemmed from his failure to properly disclose on his key employee and principal license renewal forms his ownership interests in 10 companies including two, Drinkholder and ReferLocal, which did business directly with Mohegan Sun Pocono.

The $12,000 fine against Washington Trotting Association, Inc. was the result of personnel at The Meadows Casino allowing an individual who is on the PGCB's Self-Excluded Persons List to gamble and cash in chips at the casino's cage.

The Board also fined Washington Trotting Association, Inc. $7,500 for its failure to notify the Board of construction modifications between two restricted areas at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino.

The next meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the PGCB's Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state's casino industry, along with oversight of new gaming initiatives to the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act recently approved through the signing of House Bill 271.

The Commonwealth's casino industry currently consists of 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two smaller resort casinos.  These facilities collectively employ 18,000 people and annually generate approximately $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners.
