Statement - Commemorative plaque unveiled in honour of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent
OTTAWA, Oct. 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Seamus O'Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, issued the following statement regarding the commemorative plaque unveiled in honour of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent:
"On this day three years ago, Canadians learned that Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was killed while on duty at home, on Canadian soil.
"That senseless tragedy is etched in the memories of all Canadians as the nation mourned along with his family, friends and colleagues.
"Today, a private ceremony was held with Warrant Office Vincent's family to unveil a commemorative plaque in his honour. The plaque is located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
"We remember Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent?a proud and dedicated member for 28 years of the Canadian Armed Forces. Warrant Officer Vincent's legacy will live on as a dedicated soldier who selflessly served his country, and as a son and a brother. Warrant Officer Vincent's name is also inscribed in the Seventh Book of Remembrance, In the Service of Canada, as one of the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice during active duty.
