Media Advisory - Legendary feminist Gloria Steinem to speak to students, public


TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Because it's 2017: Branksome Hall will host two appearances with renowned feminist activist Gloria Steinem on Monday, October 23.

The first is an intimate conversation between Ms Steinem and more than 600 Grade 7-12 Branksome Hall students. Media are invited to attend this event, take photographs/video and speak with students.

In the evening, Branksome Hall is hosting a sold-out public event at Convocation Hall. The talk will be moderated by Amanda Lang, business journalist and author. Audience members will have the unique opportunity to hear from and ask questions to Ms Steinem. Media are invited to attend this event, take photographs/video and can ask Ms Steinem questions during the live audience Q & A.

Ms Steinem is a women's rights activist, lecturer on issues of equality, and an award-winning writer. Since the late 1960s, Ms Steinem has been a leader for women's rights and an outspoken feminist. She has received countless awards over the course of her career and in 2013 Ms Steinem was awarded the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama for her work championing women's rights.
