Inspiring and Educating Healthcare Professionals at the 2017 Wild on Wounds® (WOW) National Conference

PLAINFIELD, Ill., Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wound Care Education Institute® (WCEI®), the country's leading wound care education provider, hosted its largest national conference, Wild on Wounds® (WOW), in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Rio Hotel and Convention Center, October 4-7.

Clinicians attend WOW to advance their wound care knowledge through educational sessions, interactive workshops, and speaker sessions with renowned industry experts. In addition to the conference, some attend an onsite wound, diabetic wound, or ostomy certification course. Partners exhibit products and services and clinicians can showcase their best wound care work in the clinical poster exhibition.

Another highlight of every WOW is the Buzz Report presented by Donna Sardina, WCEI/WOW Cofounder. The Buzz Report sources breaking news in wound care and often unveils new and innovative products, guidelines, resources, and tools.  WOW attendees are often the first clinicians in the world to see and experience the "what is new" in wound care by attending this session.

The theme "Wound Care Rocks" is quickly becoming the mantra of WOW as attendees come in droves, wearing "Wound Care Rocks" T-shirts. The mantra recognizes wound care professionals who share a passion for healing patients. One attendee, Rebekah Isenberg, from Pacifica, California, shared her excitement by saying, "I registered for Wild on Wounds because I was simply curious about wound care. I learned so much more that I can take back to my floor! My expectations were met and exceeded."

This year's conference set a record with 30% growth over last year and drew attendance from countries such as England, South Korea, the Philippines, Nigeria, Japan, Canada, and the Bahamas.  The next WOW will be held again at the Rio Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas September 12-15, 2018.
