Media advisory - Library and Archives Canada hosts Government Information Day


GATINEAU, QC, Oct. 18, 2017 /CNW/ - Library and Archives Canada, in collaboration with the University of Ottawa Library and the Carleton University Library, invites you to Government Information Day on October 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa.

This fifth Eastern Canada edition will feature presentations on the following themes: "Access to government information and data in an era of 'open by default'," and "Extending preservation and access ? government information and data beyond government."

Speakers and specialist groups from various areas of activity will be attending, including Alex Benay, Chief Information Officer, Government of Canada, and Dean Beeby, Senior Reporter, CBC Ottawa Parliamentary Bureau.

The panelists will be available before and after the presentations.

Government Information Day provides a forum for informed leaders, journalists, researchers, students and librarians to explore ways of collaborating, and to look at emerging and current government information opportunities and challenges in Canada.
