"Helen's approach to issues regarding nursing and patient care align with the MNA's values." said MNA President Donna Kelly-Williams, RN. "She herself is a nurse and we know she will be a strong advocate for nurses, for patients and for labor."

Moon has been actively involved in Berkshire County, serving as a member of the local NAACP and the American Federation of Teachers union (AFT), as well as a member of various local committees including: Indivisible Pittsfield, League of Women Voters, Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus (MWPC), and The Hoping Machine.

"I am honored to have the MNA endorse my campaign for Pittsfield City Council, Ward 1," Moon said. "As a nurse in Berkshire County, I know and understand the importance of advocating for our patients. The MNA, and its nurses in Pittsfield are dedicated to ensuring that our community has the best available care, and I am proud to stand with them.

I look forward to utilizing my nursing skills for critical thinking, collaborating, and effectively communicating with residents and fellow city councilors on the issues that matter to us. I am committed to moving Pittsfield forward."

Born in South Korea, Moon grew up in West Springfield, and moved to the Boston area where she was involved with starting a community center and other community grass roots efforts. She moved to the Berkshires almost 10 years ago to attend nursing school. She owns a home in Pittsfield, with her partner, Brian, and their children ? Taco Cat and Dakota Dog. Moon is a registered nurse at Fairview Hospital.
