BirdShack Hatches at NACS

CHICAGO, Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- One new fresh and delicious fried chicken concept, BirdShack, will make its first appearance at the 2017 NACS Show this week. BirdShack prides itself on being the best of a brand without a burden-It is your roost, your rules!

In 1952, W.O. Giles launched the foundation for breading, frying, and franchising of great food that has expanded in 2017 to include Chester's International and now BirdShack. Each offers a unique solution for customers to deliver fresh fried chicken in store for immediate consumption.

"We are excited about introducing the BirdShack concept to convenience store operators this week because it is perfect for owner-operators seeking flexible ways to deliver an irresistible fried chicken experience," said Alexis Lobodocky, Brand Manager of BirdShack. "Promising a simple, adaptable program, BirdShack offers operators what they need to grow a successful business on their own terms. We are a family of fried chicken experts offering a solution for all to deliver fresh fried chicken meals."

BirdShack recently formed a relationship with Core-Mark to capture chains and independents seeking entrepreneurial ways to deliver an easy-to-prepare fried chicken experience. In just one month of partnership, BirdShack is now in more than 50 stores nationwide.

"Promising a simple, adaptable program, BirdShack offers operators resources as they need them," said Rick Hunt, Corporate Director of Fresh/Foodservice, East at Core Mark International, Inc./Core-Mark International. "We are proud to begin a partnership with the newest member of this Fried Chicken Family with 65 years of expertise."

As BirdShack's strategic partner, Core-Mark targeted fresh fried chicken as a priority food service option for its customers and has exclusive rights to distribute and promote BirdShack products within its designated service area.

For many NACS attendees who may be already frying chicken in their stores, the costs to open a BirdShack would be limited to purchasing store marketing materials. For a retailer needing equipment, equipment can be purchased from BirdShack or from a dealer.

"There are also no franchise fees or royalties which makes us appealing to a lot of convenience stores," said Alexis Lobodocky, Brand Manager of BirdShack. "BirdShack has created a program based on recommendations, with a goal to support the sale, not get in the way."

BirdShack products are high quality, specially formulated for a successful foodservice program. Being very mindful of food costs, BirdShack consistently seeks to create value for its retail partners.

Custom branded counters, menu boards, signage, uniforms, packaging, and product are available to each operator. Convenience store operators are trained to make double breaded fresh fried chicken, potato wedges, biscuits and Southern sides.

"Each piece of fried chicken is made fresh in store and breaded with the secret family recipe that is a proven winner with amazing taste from a unique blend of spices that customers will crave," said Alexis Lobodocky, Brand Manager of BirdShack.
