The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute's Pioneer College Leadership Development Program Continues to Foster Leaders of Tomorrow
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is proud to announce that Monica Vidaurri, one of its students from its Spring 2017 Leadership and the American Presidency program has been selected by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge to speak at its first-ever awards ceremony that honors institutions, staff and students who have excelled in student voter engagement. Monica Vidaurri, a student at George Mason University, will moderate a discussion with former U.S. Secretaries of Education Arne Duncan and John King, Jr. during the event on October 19, 2017 at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum.

Leadership and the American Presidency (LTAP) is a program featuring an accredited college course taught through the Reagan Foundation and Institute's Washington, D.C. office. Co-sponsored by The Fund for American Studies, students critically examine presidential leadership from a historical context in a thematic way, making connections to their own leadership journeys. Leadership skills are challenged through authentic practices and assessments, both in the classroom and in real world settings. The program takes place each Summer and Fall. When Monica Vidaurri enrolled in the LTAP program she was a student at the University of North Texas. Following her inspirational semester, Monica decided to make Washington, D.C. her home, enrolling at George Mason University to finish her degree.
