Southern California Ralphs and Food 4 Less Supermarkets Announce Fundraising Effort to Assist California Wildfire Relief


LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Supermarket partners Ralphs Grocery Company and Food 4 Less Stores announced today that their stores would be collecting donations to support the California wildfire relief efforts.

The supermarket chains have established collection points in all of their Southern California stores where customers can make cash donations. Donations will be accepted beginning this week with 100-percent of all funds collected going directly to support the California wildfire relief efforts across the state.

Customers can support the relief efforts to bring aid to victims of the wildfires by donating their spare change in specially marked collection canisters located at the checkstands in their neighborhood Ralphs and Food 4 Less store.

"As California-based retailers, Ralphs and Food 4 Less are pleased to assist with the important relief efforts for the wildfires that are devastating our communities across California," said Myeisha Gamino, director of Corporate Affairs for Ralphs and Food 4 Less. "It is our hope that this fund-raising effort will help provide much needed assistance to the victims and families of these catastrophic wildfires."

Ralphs and Food 4 Less have long histories of contributing and raising funds to assist victims of disasters including, Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, Hurricane Katrina, and the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

Ralphs and Food 4 Less believe in uplifting the communities their stores serve. Last year, the two supermarket chains provided more than $10 million in cash and in-kind donations to organizations focused on health, education, food insecurity and youth development.
