Henry Schein Celebrates 25th Anniversary In Indianapolis


MELVILLE, N.Y., Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), the world's largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health, and medical practitioners, recently recognized the 25th anniversary of its distribution centers in Indianapolis. Operating out of two Indianapolis distribution facilities totaling 673,000 square feet, Henry Schein today employs more than 400 Team Schein Members (TSMs) at the facilities, who have contributed to nearly three decades of rapid, accurate, and complete order fulfillment.

Henry Schein, Inc. recently recognized the 25th anniversary of its distribution centers in Indianapolis. Operating out of two facilities totaling 673,000 square feet, Henry Schein today employs more than 400 Team Schein Members, who have contributed to nearly three decades of rapid, accurate, and complete order fulfillment.

To commemorate this anniversary, Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, visited and thanked the entire Indianapolis team for delivering on the company's commitments and for providing an exceptional customer experience. He also highlighted important milestones that have enabled the company to better serve customers, improve operating efficiency, and grow the average Indianapolis inventory level from $15 million since its opening to $146 million in 2017.

The Indianapolis Distribution Centers, one of five core distributions centers in the U.S., has grown from 41,400 Stock Keeping Units to more than 80,000 in 2017, with the average number of orders rising from 2,000 shipped per day to more than 11,000 per day in 2017. Today, an average of more than 25,000 cartons are shipped from the center every day.

From the start, the Indianapolis team has given back to the local community through Henry Schein Cares, the company's global corporate social responsibility program. Henry Schein has supported Pike Township Trustees Office, Central Elementary, Eagle Creek Elementary, Eastbrook Elementary, and Indiana Department of Child Services ? Marion County through the annual Henry Schein Back to School program. The team has also supported the Pike Township Fire Department with donations, and helped restore Northwestway Park, as well as participated in food drives with Gleaners Food Bank and blood drives with Central Indiana Blood Center. Through the years, the team has provided support to local chapters of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Heart Association, Indianapolis Humane Society, Soles for Soles and Impact, Riley Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society, and Wounded Warriors Project.
