National Cannabis Industry Association Hires Genifer Murray as Chief of Staff

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GENIFER M (www.geniferm.com), a luxury cannabis-inspired jewelry company, announced that its co-founder, Genifer Murray, has been named Chief of Staff at the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA). Her position will be based in Denver, CO.

The NCIA is the only national trade association advancing the interests of the legal and regulated cannabis industry, which supports tens of thousands of jobs, millions in tax revenues, and billions in economic activity in the United States.

Murray is a leading cannabis advocate, founding member of the Women's CannaBusiness Network, former president and founder at CannLabs - one of the first cannabis testing labs in the nation, and co-founder of GENIFER M ? a luxury, cannabis-inspired jewelry company.

Aaron Smith is co-founder and executive director of the NCIA, and a well-known and respected leader in the industry.

"I am thrilled to have Genifer join our organization and bring her expertise, years of experience and leadership skills to our team; as well as her sense of purpose, her steadfast drive, and her compassion," Smith said. "She will make a valuable contribution to the NCIA as we continue to support the needs of the legal cannabis industry, expand economic opportunities, and further our legislative agenda."

GENIFER M was co-founded by Genifer and her father, Glenn Murray - an internationally recognized gemologist with more than 40-years of jewelry industry experience.

The company recently introduced its Healing Collection - limited edition, custom-designed jewelry that supports conversations about the healing benefits of cannabis. The Collection's first piece, the Pink Sapphire Sativa Pendant, released October 1, in unison with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Murray says she will continue to act as a Brand Ambassador for GENIFER M, but will be stepping away from the day-to-day operations as she begins her new role at the NCIA.

"I am honored to join the incredible team at the NCIA, and look forward to helping the organization expand its mission of education, representation, and reform," Murray said. "I have devoted much of my adult life to the cannabis industry, and I am expremely gratified to be able to now help affect change on a national level."
