Packing food for neighbors in need

Tweetable Highlights:

On World Food Day, Kellogg Company and its global workforce are demonstrating their commitment to lead the global fight against hunger, with their hands, with their foods, and with a passion to feed children and families in need worldwide.

Their efforts are inspired by the Company's Breakfasts for Better Daystm global signature cause. The goal of this initiative is to create 3 billion Better Days for people in need. Kellogg and its employees will accomplish this goal by volunteering at local food banks, working with nonprofit partners to help more kids in need have access to breakfast, donating food destined for disaster sites and hunger relief programs, and by supporting programs for smallholder and women farmers to help them increase yields and income.

Through Breakfasts for Better Days, Kellogg will engage its employees in 45,000 volunteer days, and aims to inspire 300 million people in the fight against hunger by the end of 2025.

"One in nine people around the world goes to bed hungry every night, yet we know there is enough food on this planet for everyone," said Kris Charles, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs, Kellogg Company. "Hunger is preventable, and our company, employees and charity partners are working together to help meet the challenge of hunger in communities around the world."

In honor of World Food Day, Kellogg employees are helping to fight hunger in a number of important ways throughout the world. For example:

Kellogg works with partners who are equally committed to the cause of hunger, including some of the world's leading hunger relief experts, such as Feeding America®.

"Our longstanding partnership with Kellogg Company is essential to the success of our efforts to help feed more than 41 million food insecure people in the United States," said Nancy Curby, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Operations at Feeding America. "Kellogg helps us to increase our support of local food banks, and their generous product donations help us ensure that people who struggle with hunger throughout the country have access to nutritious food."

In recent weeks, Kellogg has donated more than 41 million servings of cereals and snacks through Feeding America food banks, in support of multiple disaster relief efforts in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

"We hope to inspire more people to join us in our hunger relief efforts," says Charles. "We know that whenever there is a crisis or need, everyone can lend a hand to get urgently needed food to families who face hunger and victims of disaster."
