ATIXA Announces Appointment of Ryan McDavis as Executive Director

BERWYN, Pa., Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ATIXA has been searching to fill the position of Executive Director, a title held by Brett Sokolow since ATIXA was founded in 2011. Now, this title is shifting to the person who will manage ATIXA's membership and business affairs on a daily basis. Brett's title going forward will now be President of ATIXA, and he will continue in his role as ATIXA's thought-leader and the overall head of ATIXA. Nothing will change with respect to his function or interactions with members. Daniel Swinton will be shifting from the title of Senior Associate Executive Director to Vice President of ATIXA.

With that in mind, it is time to share some exciting news regarding ATIXA staffing and personnel. Following a process involving a national search, interviews with two very promising candidates from ATIXA's member ranks, and significant evaluation, the position of ATIXA's Executive Director was offered to Ryan McDavis, MSL, MPA, which he has enthusiastically accepted. Ryan is known to many already as The NCHERM Group's Vice President for Client and Member Services. Ryan is already intimately familiar with ATIXA, and his vision for serving the association and its members is just what ATIXA needs right now. Ryan's appointment is effective as of October 1st, 2017.

In evaluating ATIXA's needs for long-term growth, success, and sustainability, it was decided someone was needed with drive, charisma, a can-do attitude, and a person who could be a team leader. ATIXA also wanted someone who was willing to try new things, expand on ideas, and work hard to bring ideas to fruition. Ryan fits the bill and will do a fantastic job for ATIXA and its members. Ryan has long worked in education, both at the University of Miami and Grand Canyon University, and has extensive development and client relations experience.

Additionally, Beth Trandahl was also promoted, from The NCHERM Group Events and Membership Coordinator to the position of Associate Executive Director within ATIXA. Beth has already been performing much of the behind-the-scenes work for ATIXA and her promotion reflects confidence in her to help move ATIXA further forward. Beth has a wealth of experience both inside and outside of education, having previously worked at Villanova University and as a 911 and police dispatcher. Needless to say, she is unflappable. Internal promotion has also been given to Michelle Issadore, M.Ed., The NCHERM Group's Vice President for Operations and Public Information, whose ATIXA title now will be Senior Associate Executive Director.

Please join ATIXA in congratulating Ryan and Beth on their new roles and Michelle on her promotion. They did an outstanding job with the 2017 ATIXA/SCOPE Joint National Conference last week. Former Associate Executive Director, Marianne Price left some big shoes to fill and ATIXA will never be the same without her, but we are confident in the future and direction that ATIXA is taking and thank all of our members for your dedication to the profession and the association.
