2017 P3 Awards Best Transportation Project to Cintra's Transform 66


AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cintra is pleased to announce that its Transform 66 P3 Project in Northern Virginia won the top award in the Best Transportation Project category of the 2017 P3 Awards.

The P3 Awards were held on September 26th at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. and attracted over 250 guests.

Over 60 entries were shortlisted across 11 categories, and the winners were selected by a panel of 80 judges with varied backgrounds within the industry.

The Transform 66 P3 Project was one of seven entries shortlisted in the Best Transportation Project category. The other projects included GICA: Girardot - Ibaqué - Cajamarca, Colombia; Highway 427 Expansion Project, Canada; Kingston Container Terminal PPP Project, Jamaica; L.F. Wade International Airport Redevelopment, Bermuda; Southwest Calgary Ring Road, Canada; and Winnipeg Southwest Rapid Transitway (Stage 2), Canada.

About the Transform 66 P3 Project

The $3 billion Transform 66 P3 Project, extending 22 miles along the Interstate 66 corridor outside of the Beltway between US Route 29 near Gainesville in Prince William County and Interstate 495 in Fairfax County, will add capacity, improve mobility and provide more predictable travel times for Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metro region. It is the first project to follow Virginia's reformed P3 process.

The project will be developed as a public-private partnership between the Commonwealth of Virginia and I-66 Express Mobility Partners, which includes equity members Cintra and Meridiam, and lead contractors Ferrovial Agroman US Corp. and Allan Myers VA, Inc.
