Fire Prevention Week 2017: "Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!"

TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - An Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (OFMEM) fire investigations supervisor will speak about two fatal fires in Ontario and how working smoke alarms could have changed the fatal outcome of each fire.

Deputy Fire Chief Eckhart will tell the compelling true story of a Welland family that was saved from fire by their working smoke alarms.

It's Fire Prevention Week from October 8 to 14, 2017, and this year's theme is "Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!". Join the OFMEM and its guest speaker to find out why every second counts when there is a fire and why home fire escape planning goes hand in hand with working smoke alarms.
