National Air Cargo Holdings, Inc. Donates Tractor Trailer to Transport Much Needed Aide to South Florida Following Hurricane Irma

BUFFALO, N.Y. and BIG PINE KEY, Fla., Oct. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- National Air Cargo Holdings, Inc., a multinational organization combining global freight logistics solutions with a Part 121 US Air Carrier ("National Air Cargo" or the "Company"), provided relief supplies to South Florida citizens still affected by Hurricane Irma, a Category 4 Hurricane that devastated the Florida Keys and still affects thousands of citizens living in affected areas. 

The products, donated by local grocery stores in Boynton Beach, Florida and parents and students from the American Heritage School, were transported via a 53-foot tractor trailer on a journey that began in Delray Beach, Florida, picked up additional supplies in Plantation, Florida, and delivered much needed supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and non-perishable goods to Big Pine Key, Florida, 140 miles south of Miami Beach and just 125 miles from Havana, Cuba. 

Organized by National Air Cargo, volunteers loaded 23 skids of supplies before the tractor trailer made its three-hour journey Big Pine Key. Big Pine, a town with just over 5,000 residents, was completely cut off from the rest of the Florida Keys by flooding along the interstate, leaving its citizens stranded and without basic supplies for days.

Mrs. Alf stated, "The American Heritage family has shown tremendous resolve in the wake of several devastating natural disaster, providing relief to victims of both Hurricane Harvey and Irma, despite the fact that American Heritage itself was damaged by the storms."
