Rasmussen College to Host Seventh Annual Women's Leadership Breakfast


MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited1 private college, today announced plans to host its seventh annual Women's Leadership Breakfast on Thur., Oct. 19 in Vadnais Heights, Minn. Around 400 current and aspiring leaders are expected to attend the two-hour event where they will have the opportunity to connect with local nonprofits and women's organizations, network with professionals from across the Twin Cities and hear from distinguished speaker, 2017 WNBA Championship coach Cheryl Reeve. As the keynote speaker, the Minnesota Lynx head coach will speak to attendees about this year's theme, "Creating a Championship Culture."

Leadership Breakfast Designed to Empower and Inspire Women Leaders

The Women's Leadership Breakfast is an event created to empower women and deepen their leadership presence in all aspects of their lives. Rasmussen College has been a place where women and men have learned as equals since it first opened in 1900. The College believes in the power of strong communities and knows the health and strength of our communities depends on the critical support and guidance offered by organizations that work to empower individuals and change lives.

This year, Rasmussen College will donate $1,000 on Reeve's behalf to the nonprofit of her choice, the United Heroes League. Honoring her years of dedication to athletics and her own experience growing up in a military family, the donation will help keep military kids active and healthy while their parents serve our country. The United Heroes League wants to ensure all five million military kids across the nation are able to develop critical life skills through sports. The organization has provided more than $3 million worth of free sports equipment, game tickets, cash grants and summer camps to military families across the United States and Canada.

About the Keynote Speaker

Cheryl Reeve recently finished her eighth season as head coach of the Minnesota Lynx by securing a fourth WNBA Championship win?making her the owner of the most coaching wins in franchise history. She was named WNBA Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2016. Reeve is a Rhodes Scholar nominee and received both an MAAC Scholar-Athlete Post Graduate Award and an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship in 1988 before earning her Master's degree in Business Administration from La Salle University.
