New York City's Animal Medical Center to Launch National Pet Health Show on SiriusXM

NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City, the largest non-profit animal hospital in the country, will have a new national platform to present pet health information in a live, one-hour talk show Ask The Vet, airing on SiriusXM's Stars 109. This forum is an integral component of the newly-launched Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education, a leading source for pet health information. Ask The Vet will air the first Friday of each month at noon.

Dr. Richard Goldstein, Chief Medical Officer at AMC, will host the monthly program which will cover a variety of pet health topics. During the live broadcast, listeners are invited to call-in with questions for Dr. Goldstein and the show's featured guest expert.  The inaugural Ask The Vet program, launching on Friday, October 6th at noon will focus on disaster preparedness with useful information to help safeguard your pet.  Dr. Goldstein will talk with Eric Rayvid from Best Friends Animal Society, the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Following Hurricane Harvey, Eric and his team flew to Houston and were instrumental in coordinating animal rescue efforts and helping to reunite people with their pets.

"For over a century, education has been at the core of AMC's mission," said Dr. Goldstein. "This program will give AMC the opportunity to further that mission by helping to educate more pet owners on a national scale and presenting timely and important issues relevant to pet health."

"We are deeply grateful to SiriusXM for the opportunity to bring AMC's knowledge and expertise in veterinary medicine to pet parents across the country and around the globe," said Kathryn Coyne, Chief Executive Officer at AMC.
