USW Will Rally with Workers on Strike against Oracle Packaging's Unfair Labor Practices
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers (USW) today said that on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, the union will sponsor a rally to support the members of Local 1693-18, who have been on strike for one week against serious unfair labor practices at Oracle Packaging.
USW Local 1693-18 represents more than 70 hourly workers who produce flexible packaging laminates at Oracle's facility in Louisville.
The USW represents 850,000 men and women employed in metals, mining, pulp and paper, rubber, chemicals, glass, auto supply and the energy-producing industries, along with a growing number of workers in public sector and service occupations.
