A TRIBUTE TO INDIGENOUS INGENUITY!

MONTREAL, Oct. 5, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - This week, Montréalers will have the chance to visit the Montréal Science Center and discover indigenous scientific innovations that are still very much present in our lives today! Indigenous history and cultures, alive for millenniums on our territory, are celebrated through this exhibition and many other events part of the official programming.

Viaduc 375
October 3rd to October 8th - viaduc Van Horne and places around
VIADUC 375 pays tribute to the Montreal railway heritage by the experience of a pedestrian promenade on the Van Horne overpass. Great performances will highlight three places symbolizing the revitalization of Mile End : Van Horne warehouse, Capitol industrial building and St. Louis old railway yard became "Le Champ des Possibles". 

Many events will take place at the Viaduc 375 site, including Parade Phénoménale, a public-spirited and extravagant event which will be held on October 7 from 4:30pm as well as Scène Pop Viaduc where artists and DJs will perform all weekend long.

Haïti- St-Michel, Un parcours de 375 années de complicité
October 6th - Maison d'Haïti
Haiti-St-Michel, A 375-Year-Old Bond is a multimedia and multisensory journey that is part of Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations. It examines the stories of Montrealers of Haitian origin on a personal as well as societal and collective level, especially in the communities of St-Michel. It explores the question of individual and collective memory that situates itself in a larger geographical journey.

Imagerie d'une métamorphose
October 6th to 15th - Auditorium Paul-André-Michaud
"Imaging a metamorphosis" is an immersive, multidisciplinary creation that sets the viewer on an historical, emotional and poetic journey. It is a deeply moving adventure through the great transformations that our beautiful, diverse city has undergone since its founding. Under the spotlight, artists meet and give a voice to Montreal's founders.

Indigenous Ingenuity ? Timeless Inventions
October 12th 2017 - Centre des sciences
The ingenuity of Indigenous Peoples from North America is all around us. Through an interactive quest, discover how indigenous science is timeless. With a bear and a trickster as your guides, take part in a virtual canoe race, build an igloo, test a kayak's centre of gravity, and discover interactive frescoes.
