Les amis de la musique de Richmond receives federal funding to improve access to Patrick-Quinn hall
Government of Canada support will allow Les amis de la musique de Richmond to make improvements and increase accessibility to the Patrick-Quinn concert hall
RICHMOND, QC, Oct 4, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, today announced $252,350 for Les amis de la musique de Richmond to improve their Patrick-Quinn concert hall.
This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund (CCSF), will allow the organization to renovate their performance space and improve safety and accessibility. Improvements include the installation of an elevator in the main hall, additional tables and restrooms for guests with reduced mobility.

Les Amis de la musique de Richmond, tenant of the Centre d'art de Richmond, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to make music and the arts accessible to the population of the Val-Saint-François regional county municipality. It is recognized by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec as a multidisciplinary promoter.
The three main objectives of the project are to increase clientele, diversify programming and provide universal access for people with limited mobility. The project is scheduled to start in the fall 2017 and continue through December 2018.
The fall season features approximately fifteen performances. Something new this year at the Centre d'art de Richmond: Musical evenings give way to the next generation and the development of young audiences takes flight.
