Waggle And Vin Di Bona Launch Facebook Original Series, "Animal News Now"

NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Waggle, the publishers of premium and community contributed pet and animal media content, and Vin Di Bona Productions, the company that produces America's Funniest Home Videos and manages the industry leading user generated digital clips library, launched the first episode of their new comedy series Animal News Now today on Facebook's Watch platform.

Waggle, founded in 2016, and Vin Di Bona Productions have joined forces in a strategic partnership to create and launch new comedy programming. Animal News Now is the first series in this venture. The show features computer animated animal news anchors, led by Ron, an Iditarod sled dog champion whose career hit the skids after a positive doping pee test. The characters report the news from an animal and pet perspective and play numerous humorous clips from Vin Di Bona Productions' archive of user generated content.

"America's Funniest Home Videos has been the leading network comedy program for over twenty years. We are excited to launch new original programming on digital channels," said Vin Di Bona, Founder, Vin Di Bona Productions. "Our team has grown one of the largest social presences in media and we're building on that success with this move into original programming on Facebook. Our partnership with Waggle gives us another path to focus on pet and animal comedy."

Waggle was incubated by Broadway Video Ventures, the production company behind "SNL," "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and other great programs, and financed by Raine Ventures (Vice, Tastemade) and Lowercase Capital.

"Waggle is able to leverage the deep network we developed at Broadway Video to create funny original videos. At the same time, we believe every pet and animal lover can shot great videos about their pet and we promote and celebrate that media," said Matt Cavnar, CEO, Waggle. "Vin Di Bona has long been the leader in creating great entertainment with user generated content and working with them is an exciting opportunity to grow both of our visions."

Animal News Now launches today on Facebook's Watch platform as early featured content in its new slate of programming. You can watch Animal News Now here: http://facebook.com/Animal-News-Now-109856939700715/
