Playtex recalls Children's Plates and Bowls with printed designs due to potential choking hazard to young children

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW/ - Playtex is voluntarily recalling Playtex plates and bowls with printed designs (also called Playtex Mealtime Plates and Bowls with printed graphics).  The products have a clear plastic layer over the graphics that can peel or bubble from the surface of the plates and bowls, which may pose a choking hazard to young children.  Playtex is issuing this voluntary recall as the health and safety of consumers is our top priority.

This recall affects consumers who have purchased Playtex plates and bowls with printed designs sold at Walmart, Toys "R" Us and other retailers plus Amazon.ca and other online retailers in Canada between January 2010 and August 2017, as well as in the United States. The recalled products are white polypropylene Playtex plates and bowls with colourful designs printed on the inside, a coloured rim on top and a non-slip bottom. Playtex is written on the bottom of these plates and bowls. The products are BPA-free and have various designs including cars, construction scenes, giraffes, princesses, superheroes and more. These plates and bowls were sold separately and together in various pack configurations and Mealtime sets.

Retailers have been directed to remove these items from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased these products should stop using them and contact Playtex for a full refund. Playtex can be contacted toll-free at (888) 220-2075 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at http://www.playtexproducts.com and click on Recall for more information.
