The company will conduct an industry workshop on Monday, October 9 at 7:00 a.m., entitled, "Standardization and Validation of Titrations in Perinatal Clinical Situations". Speakers at this workshop will address clinical outcomes associated with performing titration studies using the ID-MTStm Gel Test method, process improvements that can be realized through standardization of the titration process, and best practices for successful process implementation in the transfusion service laboratory. Presenters include Laura L.W. Cooling, MD, MS, Associate Professor and Associate Director, Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Director, Cell Therapy Laboratory, Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan Medical School; Robert Witkowski, PhD, Principal Scientist, Research and Development at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics; and Christina Gendron, MLS (ASCP), Senior Medical Technologist, Transfusion Service at Florida Hospital.

The solution's full menu automation offers the most diverse testing capabilities on the market today, including complex testing and extended phenotyping with ORTHOtm Sera[1]. Connecting the ORTHO VISION® Platform is the ORTHO CONNECTtm V2.0[2] middleware solution, which centralizes management across multiple instruments and laboratories to create a seamless flow of information, allowing lab professionals to manage workload from a single console.

Ortho will also host an exclusive invitation-only customer event, "Emergency Preparedness and Military Readiness: Are They the Same? A symposium on the lessons learned through the implementation of Low Titer Group O Whole Blood (LTOWB) in trauma management." Colonel Audra Taylor, director, and Lieutenant Colonel Jason Corley, deputy director, of the Army Blood Program will discuss how the military's implementation of LTOWB might apply to civilian hospitals' disaster response.
