Statement - October is Cyber Security Awareness Month
OTTAWA, Oct. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, made the following statement about Cyber Security Awareness Month:
"During Cyber Security Awareness Month, it's important to remember that defending Canada against cyber threats is a shared responsibility.
Cyber threats are getting more common and more widespread. Canadians are not immune to these threats, which can rob you of your money and identity and do serious harm to Canada's infrastructure, economy and national security.
There are some simple things we all can do to help protect our devices from cyber threats. Always use strong passwords, don't click on links or open attachments without checking they're valid, use only password-protected Wi-Fi networks and keep your operating system, privacy settings as well as antivirus and anti-spyware software up to date.
