The Great Pumpkin Hunt At South Coast Botanic Garden

PALOS VERDES PENINSULA, Calif., Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- After a sneaky squirrel and ravenous rabbit ate last year's prized pumpkin, the birds of South Coast Botanic Garden (ravens, Great Horned Owls, hummingbirds and Red Shouldered Hawks) have teamed up to save this year's patch. They've secreted the pumpkins away to a clandestine location. Can you help us find the missing pumpkin patch?

"We are pleased to bring this all-new fall excursion to the South Bay. This isn't just a cookie-cutter pumpkin lot ? the Great Pumpkin Hunt at South Coast Botanic Garden presents a unique fall daytrip opportunity. It will bring friends and families together through imagination and common purpose -- searching for hidden clues throughout our beautiful 87-acre botanic garden, and hopefully taking in a bit of nature along the way. This program is part of our new initiative to bring creative engagement to our Garden," said South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation CEO Adrienne Nakashima.

While exploring the property in search of pumpkins, guests are likely to: encounter the Dahlia Garden in full bloom, take a sneak peek at the newly reimagined Rose Garden which is in the final stage of construction, relax on one of 8 sprawling green meadows, witness many butterflies and hummingbirds pollinating blooms, and relax in the woodland habitat of the alpine trail. Children will squeal with delight as they chase lizards along the way. Guests are encouraged to make a day of it by packing a picnic to enjoy on one of the picturesque meadows.

The Great Pumpkin Hunt is included with Garden Admission ($9 - adults, $6 - students/seniors, $4 - children) though advance tickets are encouraged at www.southcoastbotanicgarden.org. Garden members are FREE. All children must be accompanied by an adult. An annual Garden membership to the South Coast Botanic Garden grants you FREE access to over 250 gardens nationwide.
