The Prime Minister announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service


OTTAWA, Sept. 22, 2017 /CNW/ - The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:

Jody Thomas, currently Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, becomes Deputy Minister of National Defence, effective October 23, 2017.

Bill Matthews, currently Comptroller General of Canada, becomes Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, effective October 23, 2017.

Gordon Venner, currently Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy), National Defence, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, effective October 23, 2017.

Roch Huppé, currently Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Commissioner, Canada Revenue Agency, becomes Comptroller General of Canada, effective October 23, 2017.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate John Forster, Deputy Minister of National Defence, and Gavin Liddy, Senior Advisor to the Privy Council Office, on the occasion of their retirements from the Public Service, following distinguished careers marked by dedication and excellence in serving Canadians.
