Hungry Harvest Shines Over the Sunshine State by Delivering Produce for Healthy Change

MIAMI, Sept. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Floridians are ready for a healthy change and Hungry Harvest offers members of the South Florida community a fresh produce delivery service with an inspiring purpose: combating food waste and hunger across the U.S. After successful launches in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, Hungry Harvest finally makes its debut in South Florida.

Hungry Harvest, the Shark Tank start-up, believes every person has the right to eat healthy, and every fruit and vegetable deserves to be eaten. Their inspiring mission to end food waste and hunger in the US starts by rescuing delicious produce that farmers can't otherwise sell due to cosmetic imperfections or farmer surpluses. Within days of harvest, the rescued produce is curated into weekly customizable produce shares and delivered directly to subscribers starting at just $17.

For every harvest purchased, Hungry Harvest donates fresh fruits and vegetables to support the Lotus House, a local organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women, youth, and children. In recent times of need, Hungry Harvest donated several hundred pounds of produce to Lotus House when the city was left with no power during Irma's aftermath. To join Hungry Harvest in supporting hurricane victims and sponsor a harvest for someone in need, join their drive here.

To officially kick off the Miami launch, Hungry Harvest is hosting a Miami Press event at the local hotspot, Wynwood Yard, Wednesday, Oct. 4th, at 6 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to "shop" our pop-up farmers market, and create a complimentary mini harvest of fresh produce to take home at our Build-a-Box station. Join us for produce delights and a complimentary Hungry Harvest box customized by you!

New customers can use the code HUNGRYMIAMI to save $10 on their first order.

About Hungry Harvest: Hungry Harvest is a farm direct produce delivery service that since our appearance on Shark Tank (and deal with Robert) has cut deeply into unnecessary food waste and hunger. Our subscribers have helped us rescue 4.5 million pounds of fresh but oddly shaped produce from going to a landfill, and enabled us to feed 70k families with our food access & subsidized donation efforts. 20-30% less expensive than grocery stores, Hungry Harvest produce boxes start at just $17 per week with no commitment and offer the convenience of delivery for no more than a $1.99 delivery fee.

Recognized by Forbes Magazine, The James Beard Foundation, American Heart Association, Whole30, and featured in Anthony Bourdain's documentary "WASTED!" Hungry Harvest is rocking the grocery delivery industry on their mission to eradicate food waste and hunger.
