Media Advisory - Jane Goodall Returns to Canada!

Dr. Goodall to deliver lecture in Saskatoon, 1 night only

TORONTO, Sept. 21, 2017 /CNW/ - The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada (JGI Canada) is thrilled to announce that celebrated primatologist and UN Messenger of Peace Dr. Jane Goodall will be delivering her legendary lecture in Saskatoon, SK on Saturday, September 30th, 2017.

Jane Goodall Institute of Canada (CNW Group/Jane Goodall Institute of Canada)

On this special evening, Dr. Goodall will share her extraordinary experience researching the chimpanzees of Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania with ground-breaking results.

Dr. Goodall's talk will be at the Sid Buckwold Theatre (35 - 22nd Street East). This special event is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $55-$150 with all proceeds supporting JGI Canada's conservation, humanitarian and youth engagement programs.

Jane Goodall was a young woman of 26 when she arrived in Tanzania armed with little more than notepad, a pair of binoculars and a dream to study African wildlife. In An Evening with Jane Goodall, Dr. Goodall will relate her remarkable personal story: how her passion took her from a small town in England to the forests of Tanzania where she hiked alone day after day in her drive to learn about one of the world's most fascinating animals. Dr. Goodall's historical study ultimately changed our understanding of animal behaviour and resulted in a re-consideration of what it means to be human.

Audiences will learn about our closest cousins in the animal kingdom (the genetic difference between humans and chimps is less than 2%), the escalating threats to their habitat and beyond, and why Dr. Goodall still has hope that we can make things better. From personal stories of her love for animals to accounts of scientific breakthroughs, Dr. Goodall inspires people of all ages with her belief that within each of us is the potential to make a positive difference for all living things.
