Angel's Envytm Celebrates Sustainability with a "Toast the Trees" Campaign during National Bourbon Heritage Month

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to ensure that there are always enough American white oak trees for future generations of whiskey lovers, Louisville Distilling Co. LLC, producers of the highly celebrated Angel's Envy Kentucky straight bourbon finished in port barrels, will once again Toast the Trees this September in celebration of National Bourbon Heritage Month.

"The 'Toast the Trees' initiative is a fun and easy way for our consumers and fans to interact with Angel's Envy on social media and have a real impact on our industry at the same time," Wes Henderson, Co-founder & Chief Innovation Officer said. "Each post helps us preserve the future of bourbon through planning and sustainability."

Angel's Envy will plant an American white oak tree for every #AE4THETREES hashtag that its fans share in September. To help plant a tree, consumers can share a story, check in or snap a picture of their drink and share it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #AE4THETREES. Additional information can be found at www.angelsenvy.com/toast-the-trees.

For the fourth annual Toast the Trees campaign Angel's Envy has set an aggressive goal? to plant at least 10,000 new trees in spring 2018 ? and is proud to continue its partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation.

"We applaud Angel's Envy for their continued stewardship of the forests in Kentucky," said Dan Lame, president, Arbor Day Foundation. "We are excited about the 10,000 tree goal and the 'Toast the Trees' initiative and grateful to all of Angel's Envy's customers that will help us plant these oak trees."

Angel's Envy will again partner with the Kentucky-based organization, Green Forests Work, to ensure that the trees will be utilized to restore disturbed forestland in the state. According to Chris Barton, president, Green Forests Work, "Not only are these trees important for the future of the bourbon industry, but the restored forest will have an immediate benefit for wildlife, air and water quality in the local environment."

The 2017 campaign builds on the successful social media initiative last year, which culminated in the planting of more than 6,670 white oak trees to help restore the original composition of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Laurel County, Kentucky, and to make the site more productive for wildlife.

Consumers are also invited to celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month and participate in Toast the Trees in person at the Angel's Envy distillery during daily tours. Visitors can enhance their tour by visiting the Finishing Room that will be featuring a special Toast the Trees craft cocktail menu, or learn how to make their own special cocktail during weekly cocktail classes on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. featuring local seasonal ingredients. Tours are by reservation only and there are no public tours on Tuesdays.
