Publication of a newsletter on tax errors by Canada's Department of Finance - "Tax chaos is gradually taking hold in Canada"

MONTRÉAL, Sept. 20, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Centre québécois de formation en fiscalité (CQFF, a taxation training firm) is publishing the first in a series of newsletters revealing blunders by the Department of Finance Canada and its officials, in order to cast light on problems and shortcomings with Canada's income tax system accumulated over more than 15 years.

"Gross errors and omissions, together with a failure to act, are causing serious harm to taxpayers and are costing the federal government a fortune," said Yves Chartrand, M. Fisc., President and Founder of the CQFF. "The time has come to defend taxpayers from the apathy of civil servants in the Department of Finance Canada!"

In each newsletter, the issues and observations raised are backed by tangible examples and accompanied by copious documentary evidence. This first newsletter focuses on four cases that are examined and set out in detail:

"By publishing these newsletters, the CQFF seeks to end the prevailing omertà on the unsatisfactory work of Department of Finance Canada civil servants, with nobody paying attention to the tax system's problems," Mr. Chartrand added. "It's time to highlight the growing mess created by these officials, whose errors keep mounting, to the detriment of taxpayers."
