WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Citizens Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty (CCABLAC) delivered CCABLAC's "Wrong Side Of History" Award to U. S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) for supporting systemic institutionalized Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses.

CCABLAC spokesperson Clant M. Seay said Senator Lamar Alexander is sadly doing the bidding of wealthy supporters who have no problems with the "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses.
Seay said the owner of "Gen's Black Maverick", World Grand Champion at the 2017 Celebration, Mr. Keith Rosbury, gave Senator Lamar Alexander a $2,000.00 campaign contribution during Alexander's 2014 re-election campaign.
Mr. Rosbury's horse "Gen's Black Maverick" won the Celebration on September 2, 2017, and then immediately became involved in an Animal Cruelty controversy when Mr. Rosbury's Trainer, Mr. Bill Callaway, within 24 hours started serving an eight month Federal Suspension for allegedly SORING a Tennessee Walking Horse at the 2016 Celebration.

Seay referenced an April 19, 2017, letter signed by Senator Lamar Alexander to a CCABLAC Animal Welfare Advocate trying to justify the "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty, saying to eliminate the "Big Lick" would hurt Tennessee Agriculture. Alexander also gave a non-applicable baseball analogy about baseball players choosing to take steroids and compared it to the non-elective Animal Cruelty necessary to create and maintain the "Big Lick" Tennessee Walking Horse.
