TC Media sells its L'Information du Nord Mont-Tremblant, L'Information du Nord Sainte-Agathe and L'Information du Nord Vallee de la Rouge newspapers

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 6, 2017) - Transcontinental Inc.'s (TSX:TCL.A)(TSX:TCL.B) Media Sector, TC Media, announced today the sale of three of its newspapers, namely L'Information du Nord Mont-Tremblant, L'Information du Nord Sainte-Agathe and L'Information du Nord Vallée de la Rouge, as well as their related web properties, to Sonème hebdo inc., a company led by Sylvain Lacasse. Mr. Lacasse is also the publisher of the Journal le Courant des Hautes-Laurentides newspaper. The 12 employees of the newspapers sold are transferred to the acquirer. In addition, 2 graphic designers from TC Media's Production team will pursue their careers with Sonème hebdo inc. The Corporation would like to thank them for their professionalism and wishes them the best for the future. Furthermore, TC Transcontinental also concluded a multi-year agreement for the printing and distribution of these three publications.

This transaction is part of the process for the sale of TC Media's local and regional newspapers in Quebec and Ontario, which was made public in a press release issued by Transcontinental Inc. on April 18.
