IFAW Statement: Disaster Response team deploys to rescue animals affected by Hurricane Harvey


WASHINGTON, Aug. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Disaster Response team was activated by partner Code 3 Associates to support the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). 

International Fund for Animal Welfare has deployed water rescue teams at the request of Code 3 Associates to help the Houston SPCA. Our sheltering teams and wildlife rescue teams are also standing by.

"We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by hurricane Harvey and will do our very best to serve the communities impacted by this storm. We deployed water rescue teams and have emergency sheltering and wildlife rescue teams on standby to respond as soon as needed," says Shannon Walajtys, IFAW Disaster Response Manager.
