MeridianHealth Awarded 2018 Illinois Medicaid Managed Care Contract

DETROIT, Aug. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MeridianHealth (Meridian) has been selected as one of the Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) for the new Illinois contract period beginning January 2018. Meridian was one of nine companies that bid for the new contract, and on Aug. 11, Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services announced five statewide plans and an additional plan in Cook County.

Meridian is Illinois' largest Medicaid MCO with over 19 percent of the current market. As one of five MCOs selected to provide Medicaid coverage across the entire state of Illinois, Meridian will work with the State and fellow MCOs to ensure a seamless transition for the Illinois residents experiencing the switch under the State's new contract.
