/R E P E A T -- Invitation to the media - Technical tour of the shore power system for cruise ships at the Port of Montreal/


MONTREAL, Aug. 9, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Cruise ships can now be powered by electricity at the Port of Montreal, enabling a major reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. This is the first green initiative of its kind in Quebec.

The shore power project is funded by the governments of Canada and Quebec as well as the Montreal Port Authority (MPA).  

The MPA invites media representatives on a technical tour, during which the various components of the shore power system will be explained and shown.

You will need to bring a helmet, safety vest and work boots. The MPA will have a few helmets and vests that it can lend. If you are not wearing work boots, you will not be able to access many places during the tour.      

This tour will be conducted with project representatives, in particular from the MPA and Hydro-Québec.
