Banfield Pet Hospital Unveils 1,000th Hospital

VANCOUVER, Wash., Aug. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Saturday, August 12, 2017, Banfield Pet Hospital® celebrates the grand opening of its 1,000th hospital.

Banfield President Brian Garish will be joined by the local veterinary team for a public event to honor the milestone at Banfield's 1,000th hospital, located at 1010 Murfreesboro Road, Suite 162, Franklin, TN. Local residents are invited to attend the 9 a.m. ribbon cutting and participate in subsequent grand-opening festivities, including hospital tours.

"Banfield Pet Hospital is more than a business, it's a place our associates come to live their purpose and passion, and our clients trust us with the care of their beloved pets," said Brian Garish, President of Banfield Pet Hospital. "I am incredibly proud of all Banfield has accomplished since the first practice opened more than 60 years ago ? and that we've grown by our principles to this 1,000th hospital opening."

Banfield paid tribute to the new hospital by offering free veterinary care to local shelters, as it does ahead of every new-hospital opening. Intended to provide pets the care they need and remove barriers to adoption, Banfield's Shelter Services program is one of many ways the practice and its associates work to give back to the community all year long.

Shelter Services in honor of the 1,000th hospital opening spanned five days and helped dogs and cats ? some of which are still available for adoption ? from Agape Animal Rescue, Nashville PITTIE, Williamson County Animal Center, Rudimentary Rescue and Maury County Animal Shelter. Services valued at nearly $25,000 in total ranged from preventive care like vaccinations for a cat named Kitty, to demodectic mange treatment for a Pit Bull named Hank, to specialty procedures such as a bilateral patella surgery for Remington the poodle.

"Banfield Pet Hospital once again demonstrated its amazing care and commitment, not just to its paying clients, but to its outreach in surrounding local communities," said Carlene Castleman, Vice President & Director of Nashville PITTIE. "Because of Banfield's extremely generous support, Nashville PITTIE pups received critical medical care, including services, surgeries and medications, and as a result, a second chance at a loving, healthy life!"
