"The Sask Party told voters during the election that the Crowns were safe, but they lied," said Joie Warnock, Unifor Western Region Director. "Bill 40 is a path to privatization but Brad Wall has no mandate to sell off precious public assets."

WHAT:

Rally to oppose privatization of Crown corporations and public services

WHEN:

12 p.m. CST on Thursday, August 10, 2017

WHERE:

1010 Winnipeg Street

WHO:

Speakers include Larry Hubich (President of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour), Bob Bymoen (President of the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union), and Nicole Sarauer (Interim Leader of the Saskatchewan NDP)

Thursday's action is part of a broader campaign called Stand Up For Your Crowns (www.myCrowns.ca). Among other sectors, Unifor represents thousands of Crown corporation workers at SaskTel, SaskEnergy, SaskPower, and SaskWater.

Unifor is Canada's largest union in the private sector, representing more than 310,000 workers in every major area of the economy. The union advocates for all working people and their rights, fights for equality and social justice in Canada and abroad, and strives to create progressive change for a better future.
