Honda and Acura Light Trucks Continue Strong Performance
MARKHAM, ON, Aug. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc.'s light truck lineup continued its strong sales performance led by the all-new Honda Odyssey which recorded its best ever sales. Combined July sales of 18,544 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 10% increase over last year's sales. The Honda Automobile division reported July sales of 16,843 units, up nearly 11% over last year. The Acura Division reported July sales of 1,701 units, up really 3% over last year.
"The trend towards light trucks continued as we saw the Honda HR-V, Pilot and Ridgeline outperform their previous July numbers while one of the newest member of the lineup, the all new Honda Odyssey, recorded its best ever July sales figures since 2002," said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Honda Canada Inc.
"The refreshed Acura MDX continued its steady performance as a brand favourite to improve year-over-year sales by nearly three percent," added Leclerc.
July Highlights:
- HR-V sailed past its previous July figures with 1,361 units, up 37% from 2016.
- Pilot topped its previous July figures with 786 units, up nearly 20% from 2016.
- Honda Ridgeline posted an impressive 319 units sold representing a 266% increase from 2016.
- Acura's popular MDX luxury SUV posted a 31% gain on sales versus the same period last year.
