MONTREAL, July 28, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Let yourself get swept away this week by the magic of Place des Anges, the final play presented in the We're acting out ! series ? a flagship event that is part of Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations. Angel-acrobats will capture the audience's imagination as they fly above Montreal's Quartier des spectacles under a shower of millions of white feathers. As the À nous la scène series wraps up, be sure not to miss the last few theatrical productions being featured in theatres across the city. Notably, it's your last chance to catch a presentation of Lucrèce Borgia, the classic play from Victor Hugo presented by the renowned La Comédie-Française theatre troupe.
Last, but certainly not least, La Grande Tournée continues its tour of Montreal boroughs this weekend with a move to Park Leroux in LaSalle. Nothing's better than enjoying the beautiful summer weather while celebrating with family, friends and neighbours!

We're Acting Out!
This July, no less than 50 of some of the best street theatre troupes in the world will be converging in Montréal to present 800 free outdoor performances. Hundreds of artists from six countries, including over a dozen troupes from Québec, will take part in this massive street theatre event, the biggest of its kind ever in North America!

LAPS - Parc Molson
For Montreal's 375th anniversary, the borough will create an interactive, original, mobile and ephemeral installation. The structure will crisscross public places from east to west for nearly 10 weeks and will encourage resident participation. It will offer a look at the contribution that the borough's different districts have made to Montreal's history. Historic, interactive and intergenerational workshops will be offered as it travels. To celebrate the coming of the 375th Grande Tournée, the departure and the arrival of the installation will be done in a festive spirit at 375th headquarters.

Just for laughs ? Montreal An Intervention - Because we love you
The Just For Laughs Festival refuses to be upstaged on its 35th birthday, and so dishes the dirt on its hometown in honor of its 375th anniversary in a gala show called Montreal: An Intervention Gala. An all-star lineup of stellar stand-ups and local legends roast and toast our beautiful, beleaguered metropolis on Monday, July 31 at 7:00 PM at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place Des Arts. This sharp-tongued French kiss to our fair city features a hilarious lineup of celebrated comedians including Rachid Badouri, Caroline Rhea, Jimmy Carr, Alonzo Bodden, Mark Critch, and DeAnne Smith. The show stopping, closing night Just For Laughs gala will feature a series of special guests, each introducing a comedian, short film, or comedy segment. The presenters include Jay Baruchel, Corey Hart, Brittany LeBorgne from the series Mohawk Girls, Max Pacioretty and Jonathan Drouin, and many more.

Ioskeha and Tawiscara: The Great Game of Creation
A ritual and professional theatre act inspired by traditional Aboriginal storytelling resurfaces in the heart of Montreal in which two great heroes, two enemy twins who preside over their monumental confrontation with the creation of the world. A contemporary Indigenous liturgy where the young Anishinabe artist Ziibiwan Rivers brings rhythm to the dramatic course of Ioskeha and Tawiscara until their final confrontation.

La Grande Tournée ? LaSalle
A major 375th event, La Grande Tournée, presented by Cirque Éloize, will be travelling from one end of the city to the other all summer long to celebrate its history and its people, have fun and live it up in our communities. It will give everyone who loves Montréal the chance to discover the city's charms and secrets, celebrate with their families and get to know their neighbours. The fun will also spill out onto an adjacent street or back alley where other events also await.

Promenades sur le Plateau : histoires et cultures
The Plateau-Mont-Royal Historical Society and Mile End Memories invite Plateau residents, Montrealers and tourists to explore the history and heritage of the Plateau. A program featuring 25 guided tours allows participants to stroll to the meeting places, events and communities that have shaped the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood we know today. Along the way, our experts will reveal all of the Plateau's secrets.

Les Ruelles enchantées
A 15-minute entertainment program for children ages 4 to 11 and their parents. Different characters will tell a story one at a time for three consecutive evenings, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm. These programs will be preceded by a presentation about one of Montréal's historical figures.
The culmination of this week will be the presentation of a play from the Théâtre de la botte trouée in the heart of a neighbouring park.
