The World's Most Refreshing Beer And The Arizona Diamondbacks Team Up On Sustainability

PHOENIX, July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, July 21, Coors Light and the Arizona Diamondbacks will reveal a new sculpture at Chase Field created and filled with Coors Light cans collected during this season's home games.

Designed by local Arizona-based artist John Randall Nelson, the sculpture will encourage fans to recycle while also honoring the team, welcoming fans to the ballpark and celebrating their recycling efforts. The sculpture depicts the D-backs "A" logo and used recycled Coors Light cans during its construction. The "A" will stand at over 8 feet tall and will be located in the main concourse.

"As the pioneers of the aluminum can, we have been committed to innovations in sustainability since the beginning," said Zach Fatla, Coors Light senior marketing manager. "This partnership with the D-backs is a fun way for us to bring our Coors Light drinkers together with their fans to give back to the community and celebrate the team and our joint sustainability efforts."

The new D-backs sculpture is part of Coors Light's nationwide "EveryOneCan" summer program, which encourages environmental stewardship through repurposing recycled materials and rewarding consumers for reducing their environmental impact. "EveryOneCan" is the latest initiative in the brewer's storied history of innovation in energy, waste reduction and waste conservation. The brand is continuously searching for ways to decrease the impact of production and in 2016, Coors Light cut its aluminum usage by 3.8 million pounds.

"The D-backs are committed to improving our environmental performance and partnering with Coors Light has been a great way to continue to push the envelope even further," said Derrick Hall, D-backs president and CEO. "Our fans are just as dedicated as we are and we're excited to reward their hard work with this one-of-a-kind sculpture in our ballpark."

In addition to partnering with the D-backs, Coors Light also has teamed up this summer for similar efforts with the Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels, as well as the Carolina Country Music Fest.

About Coors Brewing Company
Coors Brewing Company was founded in 1873 by Adolph Coors, who chose the Clear Creek Valley in Golden, Colo., for his new brewery because of the pure water in the nearby Rocky Mountain springs. The brewery's original and most enduring beer is Coors Banquet (Coors.com, Facebook.com/CoorsBanquet, YouTube.com/OfficialCoorsBanquet), still brewed exclusively in Golden using only Rocky Mountain water and high-country barley. Coors Light (CoorsLight.com, Facebook.com/CoorsLight, @CoorsLight on Twitter, YouTube.com/CoorsLight) was introduced in 1978 and now is the second-best-selling beer in the United States. Triple-filtered smooth Keystone Light (KeystoneLight.com, Facebook.com/KeystoneLight) is one the country's most popular economy beers. Coors Brewing Company is part of MillerCoors, the U.S. business unit of the Molson Coors Brewing Company.
