King & Spalding Adds Intellectual Property Litigators in New York

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - July 17, 2017) - King & Spalding announced that intellectual property litigators Joseph Diamante and Charles Cantine have joined as partners in the firm's New York office.

Diamante and Cantine have extensive intellectual property expertise that includes patent, trademark and trade secret litigation, licensing, distribution and supply agreements, and unfair competition work. Both lawyers were previously partners at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.

"Having worked alongside Joe and Chuck, we know them to be excellent lawyers whom clients trust with complex, high-stakes matters," said Holmes Hawkins, head of King & Spalding's intellectual property practice. "Their work for both plaintiffs and defendants on IP matters demonstrates the range and insight they can bring to the firm's current and future IP clients. We are excited to welcome them to the firm."

Diamante has been involved in over 25 major trials and litigated cases involving all forms of intellectual property and unfair competition issues. In addition to his intellectual property transactional and trial experience, he has assisted many technology companies to develop, protect and commercialize their intellectual property assets. He received his undergraduate degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from Cornell University and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Cantine is a registered patent attorney with more than 15 years' experience, and has first-chaired numerous significant jury trials in the IP space. He has also performed substantial counseling on intellectual property matters, including advising clients on the development and management of international and domestic intellectual property portfolios. Cantine received his undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America and his J.D. from Fordham University.

"Chuck and I knew that our IP clients would be best served at a firm that has intellectual property and technology as a strategic focus," said Diamante. "We also knew that our contacts outside of IP would benefit from King & Spalding's robust platform. We're looking forward to collaborating with our new colleagues."
