Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) Set To Release Animals Formerly Used In Testing, Tomorrow, June 30 In Hutto, TX

HUTTO, Texas, June 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Beagle Freedom Project (BFP), the international non-profit animal rescue & advocacy group, is achieving yet another amazing victory for animal rights! Tomorrow, four dogs and one cat, who were all used in horrific animal tests, will be rescued and allowed to step foot on grass, instead of their paws touching cold laboratory tables. Foster families will also be present as they welcome new family members home for rehabilitation.

It was only until recently that these animals were trapped in a lab testing facility, scheduled to be killed because they were no longer useful to researchers. However, thanks to BFP, they will now be smelling sunshine and soil, instead of dangerous chemicals; they'll be called by real names instead of the federal identification numbers tattooed inside their ears. The animals were the victims of what is deemed "pound seizure"; a former companion pet who got lost and ended up at the shelter, or never had a loving family to begin with.

"We are ecstatic that this laboratory is allowing us to take these animals and give them a life instead of killing them, which is standard practice in the testing industry," explains Shannon Keith, President & Founder of BFP. "Hopefully other labs will take a cue and begin releasing more animals too."

Many jurisdictions still allow animal testing facilities to pay them for animals at their shelter, only to test and kill. Several states have prohibited this shocking practice, but unfortunately, Texas allows these inhumane acts to continue... although, each municipality has its own control over whether or not they practice it.

"These adorable mixed breed dogs and cat are finally getting the freedom they deserve, and it couldn't come at a better time during the start of 4th of July weekend," says Shannon Keith

All media is invited to witness these animals take their first steps of independence on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 115 Fistral Dr., Hutto, TX 78634 (private residence). The ETA will be at 6:00pm but is slated to change slightly. To verify time before arriving, please contact Managing Director Lorna Campbell at 323-243-2300.
