TORONTO, June 23, 2017 /CNW/ - Choice Hotels Canada, Canada's largest hotel franchisor, is pleased to announce the launch of their new Book To Build campaign, a charitable program in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada to raise an estimated $100,000 for families in need of affordable housing.

Choice Hotels Canada Launches Book to Build (CNW Group/Choice Hotels Canada Inc.)

From Friday, June 23 to Sunday, July 9, guests staying at any of the 132 participating Choice Hotels' locations will have a portion of their stay donated to Habitat for Humanity Canada. 100 per cent of funds raised will be directed to local Habitat for Humanity offices to help families across the country.

"Through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada, Choice Hotels Canada is giving more than just our guests a comfortable, reliable, and affordable stay. We believe hospitality extends far beyond our hotels and into the communities where we live and work," says Brian Leon, Managing Director, Choice Hotels Canada. "Our properties are passionate about supporting our communities and making a difference in the lives of the people who reside there."

Habitat Canada is a non-profit organization working towards a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Habitat Canada believes in bringing communities together to build strength, stability and independence for families in need of housing.

"We're not just building houses ? we're building homes, we're building stronger families, and we're building stronger communities," says Mark Rodgers, Habitat Canada's President and CEO. "I'm thrilled that Choice Hotels is partnering with us, which will allow us to partner with even more families."

Habitat Canada has a long history of creating affordable housing opportunities and according to a recent survey conducted by the organization, Habitat home owners report being 86 per cent happier since moving into their new Habitat home and 65 per cent reported that their children's confidence had improved.

Through its social responsibility, Choice Hotels Canada supports reputable charitable organizations that focus on shelter, education and community development as it relates to children. Through Book To Build, Choice hopes to raise $500,000 over the next five years for Habitat for Humanity Canada.
