Memory System Management

This patent relates to memory system management that enables a scalable, flash system fabric to deliver high data throughput and low-latency response time by achieving high-queue-depths at the flash memory modules, while preserving data coherency in a RAIDed system. Global operation sequence management maintains the appropriate ordering of the high density of in-flight read and write operations required to effectively use the performance capability of an all flash array (AFA), while ensuring safe operation in the event of a malfunction.

"I am very pleased to announce that our industry-unique 4-way-active flash RAID controller architecture allows us to deliver significant advances in robustness combined with predictable low latency.  We continue to strengthen our flash memory performance offering while enhancing data safety." - Tim Stoakes, Violin's Chief Architect.
